A free shuttle bus service will run in Selkirk next week to ensure the town stays connected during a road closure for important Flood Protection Scheme works.

Raeburn Place is required to close from Monday 21 to Friday 25 March between 8am-6pm to allow for essential works to Shaw Burn.

The shuttle bus will run regularly between Raeburn Place and Market Place to ensure residents have public transport access to the town centre and connections to other bus services.

Scottish Borders Council’s Executive Member for Roads and Infrastructure, Councillor Gordon Edgar, said: “The project team is conscious that this will cause some inconvenience for the local community but hope that residents will understand why this short-term closure is necessary.

“We hope that planning this work so that the road can reopen each night - along with the provision of the free shuttle bus service - will go some way to limiting any inconvenience caused.”

The shuttle bus service will be provided by First Borders.

The service will leave from Market Place to Raeburn Place and return to Market Place at following times on Monday 21 to Friday 25 March:

8.03am; 8.22am; 9am; 9.25am; 10am; 10.20am; 11am; 11.20am; 12noon; 12.20pm; 1pm; 1.20pm 2pm; 2.20pm; 3pm; 3.20pm; 3.45pm; 4.20pm; 4.52pm; 5.10pm; 5.48pm.
