Uppies and doonies claim win apiece in this year’s Jethart hand ba’

Both the uppies and doonies claimed a victory each in this year’s Jedburgh hand ba’.

The uppies won a tightly fought boys’ game by six ba’s to five, while the men’s ba’ went in favour of the doones who won by eight ba’s to one.

As ever the town centre with its boarded up shop front resembled that of a ghost town all morning before the first ba’ of the boys’ game was thrown up at 12pm, signalling the start of play which would go on until into the evening.
