With attractions like the Kangaroo Kid and bungee jumping on the programme, you could say there was a new '˜bounce' at the 1993 Border Union Show.

And after a downturn in numbers at the 1992 event, organisers of this year’s show were congratulating themselves over an estimated 30,000 attendance over the two days – with a 30% boost for Friday. One new feature was the chance to participate in bungee jumping, with Radio Borders’ “Sexy Stuart” and John Jeffrey both taking the plunge – the latter heard cursing from all four corners of Springwood Park.
