IT was all pirates, parrots, crutches and 'Aargh, Jim lad," at Knowepark Primary School this week, as pupils acted out scenes from that much-loved children's classic, Treasure Island.
The youngsters from primaries five and six rehearsed hard all week before last night's performance, which is in aid of charity.

In their schoolwork, the children have been doing a water topic, and as part of that, they worked on the music for the show, and then decided to perform it as a fundraiser.

Most of the money raised will go to WaterAid UK, which works in 17 countries to provide safe water, sanitation and hygiene education to some of the world's poorest people.

Some of the money will be given to Knowepark's nursery teacher, Mrs Blathnaid Crilly, as she has connections with a community in Ghana.

P5/6 teacher Mrs Barbara Hood told The Wee Paper: "The children have worked really hard and it's great that they are raising money for WaterAid. They have really entered enthusiastically into the whole project."
